Összefoglaló
Thiazide-type diuretics such as chlorthalidone reduce urinary calcium excretion. Combined with vitamin D, which enhances calcium absorption, this can cause hypercalcemia, particularly with high doses or in renal impairment.
Mit jelent ez a kölcsönhatás közérthetően
Atenolol-chlorthalidone and Vitamin d can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.
Atenolol-chlorthalidone belongs to Cardiovascular; Vitamin d belongs to Gastrointestinal Tract.
Miért jön létre
Reduced renal calcium excretion from the thiazide plus increased intestinal calcium absorption from vitamin D.
Teendő
Monitor serum calcium and renal function periodically, especially when doses are high or calcium supplements are also used. Reduce the vitamin D or calcium dose if hypercalcemia develops.
