Összefoglaló
Salicylate absorbed from bismuth subsalicylate can blunt the blood pressure lowering effect of ACE inhibitors and may add to renal risk, especially in volume depletion, such as during diarrhea. Acute kidney injury is a concern in dehydrated or older patients.
Mit jelent ez a kölcsönhatás közérthetően
Benazepril and Bismuth subsalicylate can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.
Benazepril belongs to Cardiovascular; Bismuth subsalicylate belongs to Gastrointestinal Tract.
Miért jön létre
Salicylate-mediated inhibition of renal prostaglandins reduces vasodilation and renal perfusion, antagonizing ACE inhibitor effects.
Teendő
Avoid regular or prolonged use of bismuth subsalicylate. In dehydrated patients monitor renal function, potassium and blood pressure.
