Összefoglaló

Carbamazepine is a strong inducer of CYP3A4 and P-glycoprotein and can substantially lower linagliptin concentrations. This may lead to loss of glycemic efficacy.

Mit jelent ez a kölcsönhatás közérthetően

Carbamazepine and Linagliptin-metformin can interact in a way that may be serious. Using them together is sometimes necessary, but it needs a deliberate decision by the prescriber, a plan for monitoring, and clear advice on the warning signs to watch for.

Carbamazepine belongs to Central Nervous System; Linagliptin-metformin belongs to Endocrine.

Bizonyítékszint: Moderate

Miért jön létre

Induction of CYP3A4 and P-gp increases linagliptin metabolism and efflux, reducing exposure.

Teendő

Avoid the combination where possible and use an alternative antidiabetic agent not affected by induction. If co-administered, monitor glucose and HbA1c closely.
