Sintesi
Bedaquiline prolongs the QTc interval and anagrelide can do the same, so combined use raises the risk of torsades de pointes. Bedaquiline labeling advises caution with other QT-prolonging drugs.
Cosa significa questa interazione in parole semplici
Anagrelide and Bedaquiline can interact in a way that may be serious. Using them together is sometimes necessary, but it needs a deliberate decision by the prescriber, a plan for monitoring, and clear advice on the warning signs to watch for.
Anagrelide belongs to Cardiovascular; Bedaquiline belongs to Anti Bacterial.
Perché avviene
Additive pharmacodynamic prolongation of the QT interval.
Cosa fare
Avoid the combination when an alternative exists. If both are required, perform serial ECGs and correct potassium, magnesium and calcium; stop if QTc becomes markedly prolonged.
