Candidemia (Day 1): 200 mg IV infusion, THEN (Day 2 and thereafter): 100 mg/day IV, Generally continue 14 days after last positive culture

- Unknown No adequate human data; animal studies showed effects only at high doses. EU label advises against use in pregnancy. Use only if clearly needed; amphotericin B is usually preferred for serious fungal infections.

- Safe EU label: decide whether to stop breastfeeding or the drug. LactMed: one case showed low milk levels and no infant effects, and poor oral absorption limits exposure; treatment is not a reason to stop breastfeeding.
