概要
Procarbazine has monoamine oxidase inhibitor activity, and amoxapine is a tricyclic antidepressant that inhibits noradrenaline and serotonin reuptake. Together they can cause serotonin syndrome or hypertensive reactions, with agitation, hyperthermia, autonomic instability and seizures.

MAO inhibition combined with reuptake inhibition raises synaptic monoamine concentrations, with additive serotonergic and adrenergic effects.

Avoid the combination. Leave a washout period of at least 14 days after stopping procarbazine before starting amoxapine, and the reverse as well.
