概要
Antithrombin alfa is an anticoagulant used in hereditary antithrombin deficiency, often for thromboembolism prevention. Estrogen-containing products raise thrombotic risk and can work against its purpose, in a patient already at high risk.
この相互作用をわかりやすく説明すると
Antithrombin alfa and Bazedoxifene-conjugated estrogens can interact in a way that may be serious. Using them together is sometimes necessary, but it needs a deliberate decision by the prescriber, a plan for monitoring, and clear advice on the warning signs to watch for.
なぜ起こるのか
Estrogens increase procoagulant factors and venous thrombosis risk, opposing antithrombin's anticoagulant effect.
対処法
Avoid the estrogen-bazedoxifene product in patients needing antithrombin therapy. Use non-hormonal options for menopausal symptoms.
