概要
Thiazide diuretics can reduce insulin sensitivity and raise blood glucose, which may offset the benefit of exenatide. The effect is dose-related and most noticeable early in therapy or when doses increase.
この相互作用をわかりやすく説明すると
Chlorothiazide and Exenatide can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.
Chlorothiazide belongs to Cardiovascular; Exenatide belongs to Endocrine.
なぜ起こるのか
Thiazide-induced hypokalemia and reduced insulin sensitivity oppose the glucose-lowering action of exenatide (pharmacodynamic antagonism).
対処法
Monitor blood glucose and potassium when starting, stopping, or changing the thiazide dose, and adjust antidiabetic therapy as needed.
