Resumo
The aspirin component adds gastric mucosal injury and antiplatelet effect to the ulcer and hemorrhage risk already associated with deferasirox. Bleeding risk is therefore increased.
O que esta interação significa em palavras simples
Aspirin / citric acid / sodium bicarbonate and Deferasirox can interact in a way that may be serious. Using them together is sometimes necessary, but it needs a deliberate decision by the prescriber, a plan for monitoring, and clear advice on the warning signs to watch for.
Por que acontece
Additive GI mucosal injury plus aspirin-induced platelet inhibition.
O que fazer
Avoid the combination if possible and use a non-NSAID analgesic instead. If aspirin is needed, add gastroprotection and monitor for GI bleeding.
