Resumo
Ketorolac is contraindicated with other NSAIDs because the combination increases the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding, perforation and renal impairment. Intranasal ketorolac is systemically absorbed, so the warning applies.
O que esta interação significa em palavras simples
Diclofenac and Ketorolac intranasal are not normally used together. Taking them at the same time is expected to cause harm or make one of them unsafe, so a different medicine is usually chosen for one of the two.
Por que acontece
Additive cyclooxygenase inhibition causing GI mucosal injury, platelet inhibition and reduced renal prostaglandins.
O que fazer
Do not use together. Use one NSAID at a time and choose a non-NSAID analgesic such as paracetamol if more analgesia is needed.
O que perguntar ao farmacêutico
- Is there an alternative to one of these two medicines for me?
- If both are essential, who is monitoring me and how often?
