Resumo
ACE inhibitor-treated patients undergoing protein A immunoadsorption have experienced anaphylactoid reactions. Impaired bradykinin degradation underlies the reaction.
O que esta interação significa em palavras simples
Fosinopril-hydrochlorothiazide and Protein a column are not normally used together. Taking them at the same time is expected to cause harm or make one of them unsafe, so a different medicine is usually chosen for one of the two.
Por que acontece
ACE inhibition prevents bradykinin breakdown, so bradykinin accumulates during column exposure and triggers anaphylactoid reactions.
O que fazer
Discontinue the ACE inhibitor well in advance (about 72 hours per labeling) and use another antihypertensive class during the interval.
