Castor Oil is broken down in the small intestine by pancreatic lipase to ricinoleic acid, which is very irritating to the stomach and promptly increases peristalsis.

Constipation: 15-60 mL orally once.

懷孕: Unsafe Strong stimulant laxative that can trigger uterine contractions. Avoid as a laxative in pregnancy (prefer fibre or osmotic laxatives). Do not use to induce labour without medical advice: it causes diarrhoea and dehydration. Skin or cosmetic use is not a concern.
哺乳: Unknown No data on milk transfer. LactMed: a strong stimulant laxative; prefer bisacodyl, senna or magnesium hydroxide while breastfeeding. Never give castor oil to the newborn. Skin or cosmetic use is not a concern.
