Summary
Amphotericin B commonly causes potassium wasting, and corticosteroids and formoterol can lower potassium as well. Together hypokalemia may be intensified, raising the risk of arrhythmia, although inhaled mometasone has low systemic exposure.
What this interaction means in plain words
Amphotericin b deoxycholate and Formoterol-mometasone can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.
Why it happens
Additive hypokalemia through renal potassium loss (amphotericin, corticosteroid) and cellular potassium shift (formoterol).
What to do
Monitor serum potassium and magnesium regularly and replace as needed. Take extra care in patients with cardiac disease or on QT-prolonging drugs.
