Summary
Benperidol is a butyrophenone antipsychotic with some anticholinergic activity, which may add to the anticholinergic effects of inhaled ipratropium. Systemic exposure from inhaled ipratropium is low, so the effect is generally small, though dry mouth, urinary retention or constipation may be more noticeable. Salbutamol can add to tachycardia and has a small potential to contribute to QT effects with antipsychotics.
What this interaction means in plain words
Benperidol and Ipratropium-salbutamol have a small, usually unimportant interaction. Most people can take both; the pharmacist may still mention it so that any unexpected effect is recognised.
Why it happens
Additive anticholinergic effects and additive cardiac effects, with limited systemic exposure to inhaled ipratropium.
