What this interaction means in plain words

Deflazacort and Somapacitan can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.

Deflazacort belongs to Miscellaneous; Somapacitan belongs to Endocrine.

Evidence level: Moderate

Why it happens

Pharmacodynamic antagonism of growth hormone by glucocorticoids, and growth hormone inhibition of 11-beta-HSD1 reducing cortisol activation.

What to do

Monitor growth response and adjust the glucocorticoid to the lowest effective dose. Reassess adrenal replacement needs after somapacitan is started.
