What this interaction means in plain words

Efavirenz and Triptorelin can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.

Efavirenz belongs to Anti Virals; Triptorelin belongs to Endocrine.

Evidence level: Low

Why it happens

Additive pharmacodynamic QT prolongation: efavirenz directly, and triptorelin through testosterone suppression.

What to do

Obtain a baseline ECG and repeat it during treatment in patients with cardiac disease or other QT-prolonging drugs. Correct potassium and magnesium abnormalities.
