What this interaction means in plain words
Eprosartan-hydrochlorothiazide and Lofexidine can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.
Eprosartan-hydrochlorothiazide belongs to Cardiovascular; Lofexidine belongs to Central Nervous System.
Why it happens
Additive hypotensive effects from central sympatholytic action plus vasodilation and volume depletion.
What to do
Monitor blood pressure and pulse before doses and during lofexidine therapy, and counsel patients about orthostatic symptoms. Reduce or hold the antihypertensive doses if hypotension or bradycardia develops.
