Imipramine and Pitolisant can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.

Imipramine belongs to Central Nervous System; Pitolisant belongs to Central Nervous System.

Evidence level: Moderate

Why it happens

Pharmacodynamic antagonism at central H1 receptors, and additive QT effects.

What to do

Monitor for reduced pitolisant efficacy and consider an alternative to the tricyclic. Check ECG if other QT risk factors exist.
