Summary
Methscopolamine is a systemic antimuscarinic, and ipratropium has the same pharmacological action. Together they could add to anticholinergic effects such as dry mouth, urinary retention, constipation and tachycardia. Inhaled ipratropium is poorly absorbed, so a meaningful effect is uncommon at usual doses.
What this interaction means in plain words
Ipratropium-salbutamol and Methscopolamine have a small, usually unimportant interaction. Most people can take both; the pharmacist may still mention it so that any unexpected effect is recognised.
Why it happens
Additive muscarinic receptor antagonism, with limited systemic exposure to inhaled ipratropium.
What to do
No routine change is needed. Ask about anticholinergic symptoms such as urinary hesitancy, constipation and dry mouth, especially in elderly patients or those on other anticholinergics.
