Summary
Thiazide-like diuretics such as xipamide can impair glucose tolerance and may weaken the effect of antidiabetic drugs. Repaglinide is cleared mainly by metabolism, so increased renal clearance is not a credible mechanism.
What this interaction means in plain words
Repaglinide and Xipamide have a small, usually unimportant interaction. Most people can take both; the pharmacist may still mention it so that any unexpected effect is recognised.
Why it happens
Diuretic-related impairment of glucose tolerance, possibly via hypokalemia and reduced insulin secretion, opposes repaglinide.
What to do
Monitor blood glucose and serum potassium after starting xipamide. Adjust repaglinide if control worsens.
