Summary
Rozanolixizumab blocks the neonatal Fc receptor, which normally recycles IgG and prolongs its half-life. Anti-D immune globulin is an IgG product, so its serum levels and duration of effect may fall, potentially reducing protection against Rh alloimmunization.
What this interaction means in plain words
Rho human immunoglobulin and Rozanolixizumab can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.
Why it happens
Competitive blockade of neonatal Fc receptor by rozanolixizumab increases catabolism of IgG-based products such as Rho(D) immune globulin.
What to do
Avoid timing Rho(D) immune globulin during rozanolixizumab treatment cycles where possible, and monitor for loss of efficacy (for example with anti-D titres or fetomaternal hemorrhage assessment). Consider additional dosing per specialist advice if protection is in doubt.
What to ask your pharmacist
- Should I take them at different times of day?
- Does the dose of either medicine need to change?
- Is there anything I should avoid, such as alcohol or certain foods, while on both?
