Indications
Mécanisme d'action
Antifibrinolytic; synthetic lysine amino acid derivative, which diminishes the dissolution of hemostatic fibrin by plasmin In the presence of tranexamic acid, the lysine receptor binding sites of plasmin for fibrin are occupied, preventing binding to fibrin monomers, thus preserving and stabilizing fibrin’s matrix structure
Posologie adulte habituelle (résumé de la notice)
Menorrhagia: 1300 mg PO TID for up to 5 days during menstruation

- Allaitement
- Safe Passes into milk in low amounts. US/UK labels: no final assessment; weigh benefits. LactMed: expert opinion considers that breastfeeding should be permitted when the mother needs tranexamic acid.
