Ce que signifie cette interaction, en termes simples
Cilastatin-imipenem and Ganciclovir can interact in a way that may be serious. Using them together is sometimes necessary, but it needs a deliberate decision by the prescriber, a plan for monitoring, and clear advice on the warning signs to watch for.
Cilastatin-imipenem belongs to Anti Bacterial; Ganciclovir belongs to Anti Virals.
Pourquoi elle survient
The mechanism is not well established and is probably additive lowering of seizure threshold.
Conduite à tenir
Avoid the combination unless the benefit clearly outweighs the risk, and consider a non-carbapenem antibiotic. If used, adjust doses for renal function and monitor for neurological toxicity.
