Come agisce
Intracochlear infusion results in expression of the OTOF gene primarily in inner hair cells, which facilitates production of functional otoferlin protein and restores synaptic transmission to the auditory nerve (shown in mouse studies).
Dose abituale nell'adulto (sintesi del foglio illustrativo)
OTOF-associated severe-to-profound sensorineural hearing loss: 7.2 × 10 12 vector genomes (vg) per ear in a total volume of 0.24 mL, single-dose intracochlear infusion; bilateral treatment given in a single surgical session
Gravidanza e allattamento
- Gravidanza
- Unknown Gene therapy given once by infusion into the inner ear for OTOF-related deafness. No data in pregnancy and no animal reproduction studies. Confirm a negative pregnancy test before treatment in women who could become pregnant.
