Per cosa si usa
Come agisce
Recombinant fusion protein that binds several endogenous TGF-β superfamily ligands, diminishing Smad2/3 signaling and promoting erythroid maturation, thereby increasing erythropoiesis.
Dose abituale nell'adulto (sintesi del foglio illustrativo)
Beta thalassemia anemia requiring regular RBC transfusions: start 1 mg/kg subcutaneously once every 3 weeks; increase to 1.25 mg/kg if no reduction in RBC transfusion burden; maximum 1.25 mg/kg
Gravidanza e allattamento
- Gravidanza
- Unsafe May cause fetal harm: in rats and rabbits it caused fetal death, poor growth and malformations. No human data. Do not use in pregnancy; women who could become pregnant need a pregnancy test before starting and effective contraception during treatment and for 3 months after.
- Allattamento
- Unknown No human milk data; it passes into rat milk. LactMed: as a large protein, milk levels are likely very low and poorly absorbed, but no data yet. US label: breastfeeding not recommended during treatment and for 3 months after the last dose.
Effetti indesiderati segnalati
- Fatigue

- Musculoskeletal pain
