Sintesi
The live attenuated vaccine relies on a competent immune system to limit viral replication, and azathioprine (a purine-antimetabolite immunosuppressant) weakens that control. Disseminated vaccine-strain infection is possible and the antibody response to the vaccine may also be reduced.
