Sintesi
Tisagenlecleucel relies on expansion and persistence of infused T cells, whereas basiliximab inhibits activated T cells via IL-2 receptor blockade. Combined use may reduce CAR T-cell activity and increases infection risk.
Cosa significa questa interazione in parole semplici
Basiliximab and Tisagenlecleucel can interact in a way that may be serious. Using them together is sometimes necessary, but it needs a deliberate decision by the prescriber, a plan for monitoring, and clear advice on the warning signs to watch for.
Basiliximab belongs to Miscellaneous; Tisagenlecleucel belongs to Oncology.
Perché avviene
Basiliximab blocks CD25 on activated T cells, potentially impairing CAR T-cell expansion, with additive immunosuppression.
Cosa fare
Avoid basiliximab around CAR T-cell infusion unless there is a compelling need. Monitor for infection and for reduced CAR T-cell response if it is used.
