Sintesi
Ritonavir is a potent CYP3A4 inhibitor that markedly increases salmeterol exposure, leading to QT prolongation, tachycardia and arrhythmias. It also substantially raises systemic fluticasone levels, and cases of Cushing's syndrome and adrenal suppression have been reported.

Fluticasone-salmeterol and Ritonavir are not normally used together. Taking them at the same time is expected to cause harm or make one of them unsafe, so a different medicine is usually chosen for one of the two.
