Probenecid can reduce the renal clearance of pralatrexate, increasing exposure and the risk of toxicities such as mucositis and myelosuppression.
Cosa significa questa interazione in parole semplici
Pralatrexate and Probenecid can interact in a way that may be serious. Using them together is sometimes necessary, but it needs a deliberate decision by the prescriber, a plan for monitoring, and clear advice on the warning signs to watch for.

Perché avviene
Probenecid inhibits the renal tubular secretion of pralatrexate via organic anion transporters.
Cosa fare
Avoid concurrent use if possible. If it is necessary, monitor closely for mucositis and cytopenias and consider holding or reducing pralatrexate per labeling.
