概要
Echinacea has immunostimulant properties in vitro and could theoretically blunt the T-cell depleting effect of rabbit antithymocyte globulin. This might reduce protection against rejection or graft-versus-host disease. Clinical evidence is lacking.
この相互作用をわかりやすく説明すると
Antithymocyte globulin rabbit and Echinacea can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.
なぜ起こるのか
Theoretical pharmacodynamic antagonism between herbal immune stimulation and profound T-cell depletion.
対処法
Advise transplant patients to avoid echinacea products during and after antithymocyte globulin therapy. Monitor for signs of rejection if the herb has been used.
