概要
Henbane contains hyoscyamine and scopolamine, which are antimuscarinic alkaloids, so use with atropine gives duplicate anticholinergic effects. Toxicity may present as dry mouth, tachycardia, hyperthermia, confusion and hallucinations.
この相互作用をわかりやすく説明すると
Atropine and Henbane can interact in a way that may be serious. Using them together is sometimes necessary, but it needs a deliberate decision by the prescriber, a plan for monitoring, and clear advice on the warning signs to watch for.
なぜ起こるのか
Additive muscarinic receptor antagonism from the tropane alkaloid content.
対処法
Avoid the combination, as henbane has variable alkaloid content. If anticholinergic toxicity develops, stop both and give supportive care.
