概要
Ciprofloxacin markedly increases tizanidine exposure, with studies showing roughly a ten-fold rise in peak concentration and about a 10-fold rise in AUC. This can cause severe hypotension, bradycardia, marked sedation and dizziness. The combination is contraindicated in tizanidine labeling.

Ciprofloxacin is a potent CYP1A2 inhibitor and blocks the main metabolic pathway of tizanidine, greatly increasing its systemic exposure.

Do not co-administer. Choose an antibiotic that does not inhibit CYP1A2, or temporarily replace tizanidine with another antispasticity agent such as baclofen.
