Resumo
Both are given intravenously and both can affect the kidney, and amikacin also carries ototoxicity risk. Cefepime is not strongly nephrotoxic, but accumulation of cefepime in renal impairment raises neurotoxicity risk, and amikacin toxicity also rises when renal function declines.
