Resumo
Both are given intravenously and both are cleared by the kidney, and gentamicin also carries ototoxicity risk. Cefepime is not strongly nephrotoxic, but renal decline raises exposure to both drugs, increasing gentamicin toxicity and cefepime neurotoxicity.
