摘要
Methylene blue inhibits MAO-A and, with a serotonergic tricyclic such as amitriptyline, can precipitate serotonin syndrome. This has been reported with other serotonergic antidepressants and the risk is labelled.

Avoid the combination in non-emergency settings. If urgent methylene blue treatment is essential, stop amitriptyline and monitor for serotonin toxicity for up to 2 weeks or until 24 hours after the last methylene blue dose, whichever comes first.
