What this interaction means in plain words
Amlodipine and Cyclosporin can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.
Amlodipine belongs to Cardiovascular; Cyclosporin belongs to Miscellaneous.
Why it happens
Mutual interference with CYP3A4 metabolism, with amlodipine's effect on cyclosporine not fully established.
What to do
Monitor cyclosporine trough levels and renal function after starting or changing amlodipine, and adjust the cyclosporine dose if needed. Monitor blood pressure and peripheral edema.
