What this interaction means in plain words
Amlodipine-hydrochlorothiazide-valsartan and Salmeterol can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.
Amlodipine-hydrochlorothiazide-valsartan belongs to Cardiovascular; Salmeterol belongs to Respiratory.
Why it happens
Additive hypokalemia from thiazide-induced renal potassium loss and beta-2 agonist-driven intracellular potassium shift.
What to do
Monitor serum potassium, especially in patients with severe asthma or COPD, heart disease, or those taking other kaliuretic drugs. Replace potassium as needed.
