What this interaction means in plain words

Brexpiprazole and Pyrimethamine can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.

Evidence level: Low

Why it happens

Inhibition of CYP2D6-mediated metabolism of brexpiprazole.

What to do

Monitor for adverse effects of brexpiprazole during co-use. Reduce the brexpiprazole dose to a quarter of usual if a strong or moderate CYP3A4 inhibitor is also given with a CYP2D6 inhibitor.
