Summary
Cyclizine has anticholinergic properties that may modestly help parkinsonian symptoms but can worsen dyskinesias, confusion and constipation. At higher doses, delayed gastric emptying may reduce levodopa absorption.
What this interaction means in plain words
Carbidopa-levodopa and Cyclizine have a small, usually unimportant interaction. Most people can take both; the pharmacist may still mention it so that any unexpected effect is recognised.
Carbidopa-levodopa belongs to Central Nervous System; Cyclizine belongs to Respiratory.
Why it happens
Anticholinergic effects slow gastric emptying and may delay levodopa absorption, with additive central anticholinergic effects.
What to do
Monitor motor response, cognition and bowel function. Prefer a non-dopamine-blocking antiemetic with less anticholinergic activity, such as domperidone, where nausea treatment is needed.
