What this interaction means in plain words

Fondaparinux and Parecoxib can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.

Evidence level: Low

Why it happens

Additive: COX-2 inhibitor mucosal and renal effects with factor Xa inhibition; renal impairment may raise fondaparinux exposure.

What to do

Use the lowest effective parecoxib dose for a short period and monitor for bleeding and renal function. Consider paracetamol as an alternative.
