Summary
Fosamprenavir is converted to amprenavir, a CYP3A4 inhibitor, and especially with ritonavir boosting can substantially increase ivabradine levels. This may cause serious bradycardia and conduction abnormalities.
What this interaction means in plain words
Fosamprenavir and Ivabradine are not normally used together. Taking them at the same time is expected to cause harm or make one of them unsafe, so a different medicine is usually chosen for one of the two.
Why it happens
Amprenavir inhibits CYP3A4, reducing ivabradine metabolism.
What to do
Avoid the combination and select an alternative agent for angina or heart failure.
