What this interaction means in plain words

Hydrochlorothiazide-lisinopril and Insulin inhaled can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.

Evidence level: Moderate

Why it happens

Thiazides impair glucose tolerance via reduced insulin secretion and sensitivity, partly through hypokalemia.

What to do

Monitor blood glucose when the thiazide is started or adjusted, and titrate insulin dose accordingly. Keep potassium in the normal range.
