Mécanisme d'action
Binds to topoisomerase I to produce double-strand breaks in DNA
Posologie adulte habituelle (résumé de la notice)
Regimen 1 (Weekly): 125 mg/m² IV infusion over 90 minutes on days 1, 8, 15, 22, then 2 weeks off, then repeat

- Grossesse
- Unsafe Can cause fetal harm: embryo deaths and birth defects in rats and rabbits below human exposure; human data are limited. Avoid; verify pregnancy status. Contraception after the last dose: women 6 months, men 3 months (liposomal form: 7 and 4 months).
- Allaitement
- Unsafe Irinotecan and its active metabolite pass into milk, the metabolite for up to a week after a dose. US labels: do not breastfeed during treatment and for 7 days after the last dose (liposomal form: 1 month). LactMed: higher doses may need a longer break.

- Drug is subject to photodegradation, especially in neutral and alkaline solutions
