Résumé
Amiloride retains potassium, and canagliflozin has been associated with small potassium increases in some patients with renal impairment. The main concern in combination is also volume depletion and hypotension from added diuresis.
Ce que signifie cette interaction, en termes simples
Amiloride and Canagliflozin can affect each other. The combination is often manageable, but it may need a change of dose, a change of timing, or extra checks while both are taken.
Amiloride belongs to Cardiovascular; Canagliflozin belongs to Endocrine.
Pourquoi elle survient
Amiloride reduces renal potassium excretion while canagliflozin adds osmotic diuresis and may modestly raise potassium; effects are additive.
Conduite à tenir
Monitor potassium, renal function, blood pressure and volume status, particularly early in therapy or in renal impairment. Reduce the diuretic dose if volume depletion appears.
