Résumé

Tipranavir, given with ritonavir, inhibits CYP3A4 and P-glycoprotein and can substantially increase colchicine concentrations. This raises the risk of severe or fatal colchicine toxicity, especially in renal or hepatic impairment.

Colchicine and Tipranavir are not normally used together. Taking them at the same time is expected to cause harm or make one of them unsafe, so a different medicine is usually chosen for one of the two.
