Résumé
The dengue vaccine is a live attenuated vaccine, so in a patient on cyclosporin the vaccine virus may replicate excessively and cause disease. The immune response may also be inadequate.

Cyclosporin and Dengue vaccine are not normally used together. Taking them at the same time is expected to cause harm or make one of them unsafe, so a different medicine is usually chosen for one of the two.

Impaired cell-mediated immunity from calcineurin inhibition allows uncontrolled replication of the live vaccine virus and weakens the response.

Do not administer the dengue vaccine during cyclosporin therapy. Consider vaccination only after immunosuppression has been stopped for an adequate interval, in consultation with a specialist.
