Sintesi
Both drugs prolong the QT interval and the combination increases the risk of torsades de pointes. Risk is greatest with intravenous ondansetron at higher doses and in patients with electrolyte disturbance, bradycardia, heart disease or female sex. Amiodarone's long half-life means the risk persists after discontinuation.
