Resumo
Aspirin and prasugrel are combined deliberately in acute coronary syndrome and after stenting, but together they substantially increase the risk of major and fatal bleeding. Risk is higher in elderly patients, those with low body weight, or with prior stroke.
O que esta interação significa em palavras simples
Acetylsalicylic acid and Prasugrel can interact in a way that may be serious. Using them together is sometimes necessary, but it needs a deliberate decision by the prescriber, a plan for monitoring, and clear advice on the warning signs to watch for.
Acetylsalicylic acid belongs to Musculoskeletal; Prasugrel belongs to Cardiovascular.
Por que acontece
Additive platelet inhibition through irreversible COX-1 blockade (aspirin) and irreversible P2Y12 receptor blockade (prasugrel).
O que fazer
Use only when indicated, keep aspirin at low maintenance dose, and monitor for bleeding and hemoglobin; limit duration according to guidelines and consider alternatives in high-bleeding-risk patients.
