Resumo
Fondaparinux (a factor Xa-directed indirect inhibitor) and apixaban (a direct factor Xa inhibitor) both suppress thrombin generation or activity, so giving them together amounts to duplicate anticoagulation. The likelihood of serious bleeding rises without added therapeutic benefit.
