Как действует
Diloxanide is a luminal amebicide, however the mechanism of action of diloxanide is unknown. Diloxanide destroys the trophozoites of E. histolytica that eventually form into cysts. The cysts are then excreted by persons infected with asymptomatic amebiasis.
Обычная доза для взрослых (кратко по инструкции)
500mg three times a day for ten days. If required, a second course of treatment may be prescribed.

Противопоказания
- Hypersensitivity to diloxanide furoate or to any of the excipients.
Кому следует соблюдать осторожность
- Diloxanide acts only in the bowel lumen. It is not effective on its own against invasive intestinal amoebiasis or extra-intestinal disease such as amoebic liver abscess.
- In invasive amoebiasis, give diloxanide after or with a tissue amoebicide such as metronidazole or tinidazole to eradicate remaining intestinal cysts.
- Pregnancy: avoid, especially in the first trimester. Delay treatment until after delivery or at least until after the first trimester unless clearly needed.
